Chris Jericho Wants To Bring Painmaker Gimmick To Big Screen

Chris Jericho is a legend of the business and there’s no arguing that. Jericho has received widespread praise for his ability to reinvent his character throughout all these years. The former AEW World Champion wants to bring one of his gimmicks to the big screen as well.

Chris Jericho appeared on the latest episode of Howie Mandel Does Stuff to talk about different things. The former IWGP Intercontinental Champion said he wants his Painmaker gimmick to get a movie of its own. Jericho also revealed Painmaker is getting its own graphic novel.

“The idea is to make it into a movie at some point. That’s my overall goal. We’re just writing and illustrating the graphic novel now. So the idea is The Painmaker is an intergalactic former serial killer. He’s changed his life, and he’s not a serial killer anymore, but now he travels the galaxy hunting down other serial killers in different galaxies, different planets.”

For those not in the know, Jericho introduced the Painmaker gimmick during his feud with Kazuchika Okada over the IWGP Heavyweight Championship a few years ago. Keep reading Ringside News for more.
