Zoe Saldaña is having a moment.
The Dominican American actress has been in Hollywood for quite some time, but this year, as she gears up for the release of Avatar: The Way of Water, she is finally getting some of the recognition she deserves.

The star made a dazzling appearance last night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she spoke about her past and upcoming projects. She looked every bit a movie star in a black hand-embroidered sequined slipdress by Michael Kors. The dress, which features a plunging neckline and ruched detailing, hails from the label's spring/summer 2023 collection.
Saldaña paired the piece elegantly with a pair of strappy black heels with small silver buckles. She accessorized sparingly, wearing a pair of diamond stud earrings, a matching diamond tennis bracelet, and her silver wedding band.
The actress's natural makeup and pretty ballerina bun tied the sophisticated look together.

In addition to Avatar, Saldaña celebrated the release of two other films this year, The Adam Project and Amsterdam, as well as her Netflix series, From Scratch.
Previously, the actress best known for her action-heroine talents onscreen, appeared in the Avengers films, Pirates of the Caribbean, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Star Trek, among many others.
"I'm pinching myself," she told Fallon yesterday, speaking of her roles in such big, successful films. "It's not something that I picked strategically. I was just very lucky to be picked, to be chosen, and I gave it 120 percent. The fact that these two movies (Guardians of the Galaxy and Avatar) are the most successful ones, and I'm in them, it's not bad for a girl from Queens."
Avatar: The Way of Water premieres December 16.
